Eye care questions

Do you write glasses and contact lens prescriptions in Hilo?

Yes. We perform complete refractions and contact lens fittings and issue your prescription. We don't make glasses on-site, so you're free to fill your prescription at the optical shop of your choice.

How often should I have an eye exam?

For most healthy adults, every one to two years is a good rhythm, and yearly if you wear glasses or contacts, have diabetes, or are being monitored for a condition such as glaucoma. We'll recommend the right interval for you at your visit.

Do you see children for eye exams?

Yes. We provide gentle pediatric and family eye care, from a child's first exam through every stage of life, all in one Hilo office.

Do you accept Medicare and insurance for eye care?

We accept Medicare and work with medical insurance for covered eye care. We'll review your coverage and any costs with you. Call (808) 935-2964 with questions.
